From the Hendra virus to Sydney Cup day at Randwick

2012-04-30 (Latest News)

When our team met Christine and John Brady on the Cold Coast in January this year, we learned that their property in far north Queensland was the first to be affected by the dreaded Hendra virus.  The Brady's experienced the tragedy of losing their equine veterinarian together with a number of their horses on the property.  Son Ian, who manages Wattle Brae Stud in Queensland, kindly suggested that his mum and dad contact us with the view to possibly becoming involved in the ownership of some of our Star horses.  Christine and John now have shares in several our of our Star Thoroughbred's babies, and over the weekend of the Sydney Cup they came to Randwick to see More Joyous, Pierro and Atlantic Jewel win at Group 1 level on a truly memorable day.  It was terrific to hear from Christine and John today and to learn that they (and their great friend Raelene Glasgow) had enjoyed a fantastic racing weekend in Sydney.
Hi Denise,

On behalf of Christine and Raelene I would like to thank you and Lucy for looking after us this past weekend and especially for the Friday Lunch, the Races on Saturday and the Stables on Sunday. We had a wonderful time and also a very good day on the punt. We met some wonderful people and I have to congratulate you and Lucy and Gai and her Staff for the manner that you conduct your business. It is like one big happy family and one that we are proud to be a small part of.

Thank you again for a great weekend and congratulations on your success.

Cheers
John Brady

Hi Denise, Gai, Lucy, Bruce and Team

Thank you all for such an awesome weekend in Sydney. I could not have had a better introduction to the Racing Industry. You have an amazing team of people and horses there. I enjoyed our day at the stables on Friday and for my first ever attendance at a race meeting I was just blown away on Saturday by the sights, sounds and atmosphere of Randwick on Sydney Cup day as well as the bonus of the success that Gai and the team had with those wonderful horses which allowed me to go home a winner. The real highlight for me was the parade of horses at Tulloch Lodge on Sunday morning and getting to meet so many lovely people. I look forward to our next trip down and wish you all continued success and good luck.

Cheers Raelene
