We have always felt that 2 year old colt, Betrayal, would "make the grade", and his super impressive win at Canterbury over 1,250 metres this afternoon justified our sentiments. We purchased the colt last year at the Sydney Easter sales and, with a pedigree like his, (Exceed And Excel - Carry On Cutie), we were keen to try to keep him as a colt. Betrayal made his race debut on the Kensington track 3 weeks ago and whilst starting a short priced favourite, was run down late by the very talented Darley 2 year old, Sessions. This afternoon, Betrayal jumped to the lead, extended in the straight, and looked good in winning comfortably. Jockey Tommy Berry said, "he is a classy colt, with a big future". Congratulations to the winning BETRAYAL owners: John Leggett, Francis Kennedy, Barbara Kennedy, Michael Townsend, Judith Kevin, Piquet Racing (Manger: Paul Kevin), Lance Yates, David Rothwell, Mathew Csidei, George MacDonald. |
