What an eye catching performance by three year old Fastnet Rock gelding CITY OF LIGHT, to win over 1,300 metres at Hawkesbury when resuming after a spell. From barrier 13 and carrying 59 kilos, CITY OF LIGHT displayed terrific gate speed to roll to the front relatively easily and then dictated terms throughout, winning by four and a half lengths in good time.

 

The photograph of Tommy Berry having a big look around right at the finishing post pretty much says it all. CITY OF LIGHT was simply far too good for his rivals.
