CEDARWOOD a strong Kembla Grange winner at his second start

2017-09-11 (Latest News)
After his recent luckless debut run at Hawkesbury 3 year old Your Song gelding CEDARWOOD made amends with a strong win over 1,200 metres at Kembla Grange on Saturday courtesy of a well judged ride by Grant Buckley.
CEDARWOOD was nicely away from barrier 3 and settled into a lovely rhythm on the fence, behind the leaders. On approaching the hometurn, Grant asked the gelding to improve and a head to head duel ensued with the eventual runner up. CEDARWOOD fought to the line with real tenacity and it was very pleasing to see him salute at only his second race start.
The son of Your Song was a 2016 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale purchase from the draft of Widden Stud. Out of the Irish bred broodmare Ceol Na Sraide (IRE), CEDARWOOD is aptly named as his dam's name translates to music street and Cedarwood Road is a song by the iconic Irish band U2.
Congratulations to the winning CEDARWOOD owners Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Felgate Holdings (Manager: Paul Felgate), Stuart Donaldson, Raelene Glasgow, Anne Howlett, Ray Aurisch, Helen Aurisch, Robert Lapointe, Anthony Cheung, David Boehm, Derek Robinson, Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy).
